From May 16-19 I had the opportunity to teach at the Korean Discipleship Training School in Honolulu, Hawaii. The students in these Korean DTS’s are very motivated in their pursuit of God.

On Mothers Day I had the opportunity to preach at Mokuaikaua Church in downtown Kona. It’s the oldest Christian church in the state of Hawaii, founded in 1820.
The week of May 2-5 all nine of the DTS courses combined for a corporate week together in the main auditorium. Among others teaching, I had the opportunity to share as well. One of the sessions was a celebration of the nations where people sang in their mother tongue.
During the first three weeks of class we had several visiting professors give one, two, three or five day seminars on their subject of expertise.
For three months in Kona each week we have a variety of teaching activities to create a complete learning week. At the end of the first week of class, the students were invited to select which of three teams they would join for an overseas field assignment in the second three-month quarter.
After student orientation the students went to their difference classes. Our ANAG DTS students came to our classroom for a specific orientation to our course and a time of getting acquainted.
On Friday April 8 we began the day with a Polynesian protocol welcome for our students, an orientation to the campus and courses and a celebration of the more than 30 nations the students came from.
Over 300 new students arrived to begin classes here at the University of the Nations Kona campus on April 7th. Easter Sunday events began early for us at the Easter Sunrise Service at the soccer field in town with about 20 churches meeting together to celebrate the resurrection.
